Radon Testing in Westerville, Ohio

Radon is a colorless, odorless radioactive gas that can enter homes from the soil. The EPA recommends testing every home and fixing the home if the radon level is 4 pCi/L or higher. Levels between 2 and 4 pCi/L still pose risk, and the EPA says you may want to reduce those too.

Call (614) 363-6129. Westerville Radon will connect you with a licensed Ohio radon tester. We do not perform tests ourselves.

Who should test

  • Homeowners in Westerville, Genoa Township, Lewis Center, Galena, Sunbury, and New Albany
  • Buyers during a home inspection contingency
  • Sellers who want results before listing
  • Anyone who has never tested, or who has not retested in about two years (ODH recommends retesting single-family homes about every two years, or after major renovations that change airflow)

What to expect (general)

A licensed tester will explain short-term vs longer tests, device placement, and closed-house conditions when those apply. Real-estate deals often use a short-term test that fits an inspection window. Exact protocols come from the licensed professional and Ohio rules, not from this website.

After the results

  • If results are below the EPA action level, ask the tester about whether follow-up testing is wise.
  • If results are 4 pCi/L or higher, the EPA recommends fixing the home. We can connect you with a licensed mitigation contractor. See Radon Mitigation.
